SALE Antique Rare Mold 878 Simon & Halbig Bisque Socket Head Doll, c.1880

This rare Simon & Halbig doll measures 7" in height. She is dressed in her all original nanny or governess outfit. Generally she is in very good condition. The bisque socket head is excellent with blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, open mouth with four teeth, light brunette mohair wig on an excellent five piece composition body with painted shoes and socks. The nanny's costume consists of a peach silk dress, muslin apron, undergarments, ruffled nanny cap, and a long rose silk cape with black velvet trim. The costume is a bit fragile with the cape fraying and the ruffled nanny cap loosing some of its ruffles. She carries a tiny all-bisque baby with a wig and clothed in a lace gown and cap. She is marked on the back of her bisque head, "878 2".
