This match box holder measures 2 5/16" long and 1 9/16" in width. The pale green jade overlay on one side has what appears to be a bird and floral motif hand carved in it. The opposite side has a figure of an oriental man with a frond fan amongst a floral leaf motif etched in the brass. The box of matches in the holder says "Catamount: Made in Finland; Impregnated Safety matches; Distributed by Riverside Paper Co; Burlington V.T.". The piece is in very good condition with no damage noted to the jade or the brass other than tarnish.
