This candy container was patented and produced by J H Millstein Co. The jeep measures approx. 4 1/4" long, 1 3/4" wide and 1 7/8" high. It is marked on both sides near the rear wheels, "JEEP"; top of hood has "WILLYS" (hard to read) with three raised lines on either side, and the bottom has "J.H. MILLSTEIN CO" on one side and "JEANNETTE, PA" on the other with "PATENTED" between the front wheels. Patented in 1944, it was produced for nine years. A cardboard covering enclosed the candy within the open bottom. An example of this item can be found on pg. 153 of the Collector's Guide to Candy Containers by Douglas M. Dezso, J. Leon Poirier & Rose D. Poirier. The jeep is in very good condition with only a couple of rough spots to the glass, probably caused when removed from the multiple molds.
