Great antique miniature book, Almanack 1886 by Kate Greenaway. This little book measures just 4" x 3". The book was published by George Routledge & Sons with printing done by Edmund Evans in London. The book is in good condition but does show some foxing or age spotting through the 24 pages. The binding remains tight, all pages are intact with no tears and no scribbles or marks on the printed pages. The cover has a few rubs and a few small areas of the corners have lost their paper covering. The illustrations in this little volume are remarkable considering their age, printed on the great quality heavy weight paper used in the Victorian era. Kate Greenaway was born in London on March 17, 1846 and died at her home in Frognal, Hampstead on November 6, 1901. Kate's illustrations can be seen on each of the months of the year along with each of the four seasons and several on her poems in the front and back of the almanack.
