A wonderful antique William Guerin Limoges desk tray. This tray is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is minimal loss of the gold leaf scrolled designs. The ornate floral design has borders with pink, yellow and blue accents. One edge of the tray has a wonderful relief scrolled "feather". The tray measures approx. 9" x 3 1/2". The mark on the bottom should date this piece prior to 1891. Sometimes country names were used as part of the mark prior to the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891. The earliest marks known to have used the country name as part of the mark in France is 1867. an example of this mark can be seen on pg. 134 of Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain 3rd Edition by Mary Frank Gaston.
