Very nice antique Capodimonte porcelain hand-painted inkwell in very good condition. Raised figures of women and children in a garden and Polynesian type setting. The top has two quill holes and is decorated with flowers and leaves. The loose lid has a gold and yellow finial. Measurements are approximately 3" wide x 4 1/4" long x 3 1/4" tall. This hand carved wood bear measures 3" in height. He comes from the Black Forest region of Germany, c.1890. He is in very good condition with no chips to the wood, although there are a couple scuffed areas. The hinge is in good working order. The ink insert inside is in very good condition with no chips or cracks but does have quite a bit of dried ink residue inside. The glass insert is hand blown. This porcelain bulbous inkwell has a saucer base and a loose finial cover. The saucer base measures 7 1/2" in diameter, an inkwell diameter of 4 1/4" and a height fully assembled of 3 5/8". The piece is mostly round with the edge of the saucer evenly scalloped. The bulbous well is formed with uneven lobes. The design has birds, peonies and insects.
