Brush McCoy introduced the Nurock line in 1916. We suspect that Nurock is a variation on the words "New Rockingham", referring to the Rockingham glaze on this line, which is a brown mottled drip glaze that some refer to as a yelloware spatter glaze. This large pitcher is the rarest in what was a small line of pottery. It has bead detail and peacocks and palm trees in relief. It stands just under 8 1/2" high and measures 8 1/4" from spout tip to outermost portion of the handle. This wonderful piece displays beautifully but does have overall crazing, nibbling along the bottom edge, and several hairlines on the interior which we tried to catch in the photos. The pitcher weighs a heavy 4 lbs.
