Wonderful antique pitcher or jug made in France and imported to the US by PV (Peasant Village)by Mittendorf & Strauss c. 1900-1920. It is hand thrown and has a dark brown glaze on the interior and bright turquoise blue on the exterior. The clay is a terra cotta color, and some have attributed this piece to Savoie, but I do not know for sure. This jug has a great spout--note the interesting shape with the thin neck growing wider toward the end. The glaze appears to be a tin majolica type, quite thick. The jug stands 6" tall. There are no cracks; there are some nicks at the spout and a glaze pop on the side of the spout as pictured, otherwise great condition. Marked as shown on the bottom.
