Another great retro fine! A turquoise blue rotary dial desk phone dated June, 1962! This phone was made in America at by Western Electric for the Bell telephone system. This phone is super clean, and the cords are in great condition (note that the spiral receiver cord is fine, not pulled out of shape)! It hails from Darlington, South Carolina and bears a sticker from the Kisler Funeral Home (still in business) on the side with local emergency phone numbers on it--this can be removed if you desire. It has a silverplated receiver cover on it, so this was someone's special phone. Everything about the phone is just great, and the color is terrific--goes beautifully with today's popular brown and turquoise color combinations that mid century modern devotees adore! These old phone were made to last, and they're heavy--this one weighs 5 lbs.
We believe this phone can easily be adapted for use in today's homes. A national chain store sells 4 prong adapters that plug into standard phone outlets, and they can be ordered online. The adapters cost less than $7 from the local store, and they can also be ordered online for under $10. An online search for "4 prong telephone adapter" should show you what you need.
