Vintage Gibson Athens Gold Luster Flowers Teapot

A very pretty old teapot by Gibson's, Staffordshire, England. This teapot has gold or gilt decoration of flowers and leaves with a wide center band of gold with white flowers and leaves. The spout is gold and the outer part of the handle as well as the lid finial are gold as well. The pot measures just under 7" high to the top of the finial, and 8 1/2" from spout tip to handle edge. There are no chips or cracks and very slight wear to the gold; there is some age crazing. The bottom is marked with "Athens Gibson England" impressed and with a gold crown, underneath is the Gibson's banner and "Staffordshire England" along with "w 880" and "D" in gold. There is also the remains of a sticker put on with old rabbit glue as can be seen in the photo.
