Gilt Ormolu Mounted Cameo Glass Vase

This is a gorgeous item of art glass. This type of cameo glass was produced in the late 1800s in Patin and other areas of France by several makers including Mont Joye. The square canted cornered glass is soft and glowing with the carved surface of waves in a smokey mocha color. The gilt ormolu base is richly detailed with a theme of wetlands with tall grasses and flowers. The top mounting depicts a marsh bird in flight. The glass is in very good condition, only a few very small nips the largest is pencil lead size. The gilt is in wonderful condition, still bright & with very little rubbing. There are some old repairs to the ormolu to some slight separations in the detail of the metal . I've included many photos for you to view this fine vase in detail. 9" tall x 4.5" wide
