I love marquetry & this wonderful miniature chest is inlaid on all sides, top, interior of the door and on the front of the three interior drawers. The metal hinges & closure on the front door are all engraved, the slide lock bar works fine and all the drawers which are black lacquered inside pull in & out smoothly. Wherever you place it, it will be a focal point of a table top collection. There is only slight lifting to the inlay on the top but nothing is missing. Being early to mid 1900s, it has a great patina!
