French Napoleon III Boulle Style Brass Inlay Box

A very nice c 1860s Napoleon III period French box with original silk lining with gold metallic twisted rope trim & original red paper lined lower. The burled wood is very well figured on all sides, inlaid with 3 bands of brass on top & front. The top with a good boulle style cartouche with MOP, engraved brass, fine kingwood and edge bound with bronze as well as ebonized framing. In very good condition with only very slight expected age marks. Working lock & key. 9" x 6.25" x 4.25" tall
