This beautiful early plastic brooch is from the years of the Great Depression. With money being hard to come by for many and metals being in short supply due to WWII, much of costume jewelry, including Bakelite, were made from inexpensive materials. It couldn't be known at that time, how collectible and desired these old brooches would become. And we know what Bakelite jewelry sells for these days!! If only we could take a trip back in time and pick up a few items!! I wonder what story from that era we would hear if this lovely brooch could talk! It features a very pretty white lucite flower with a celluloid chain, five large (about 1/2" diameter) dangling faux pearls topped by brass fittings. It is about 4 1/4" in length, with a width of 2 1/4". It is in mint vintage condition - just spectacular. It will definitely make heads turn!!
