Girl Singer was introduced in 1969 and was retired in 1979. She has a glossy finish, is 7.5 inches tall, holds a microphone and looks all the part of a classic singer with her long hair and slit skirt. She is in pristine condition with no flaws. She is marked on the bottom LLADRO - HAND MADE IN SPAIN "F" (See photo). On the box is also the identification 2.n 612.
Yes, I do have the box, however, it has some writing and tape on it due to moving several times over the years and packing her up in the original protective straw.
This lovely piece sold at auction in 1996, ten years ago, for $600. (See Kovels price guide on their site). Not only a beautiful decorative, but also a good investment.
If you are not familiar with Lladro, here is an except from Kovels with a little history about the company.
"Lladro is a Spanish porcelain. Juan, Jose, and Vicente Lladro opened a ceramics workshop in Almacera in 1951. They soon began making figurines in a distinctive, elongated style. In 1958 the factory moved to Tabernes Blanques, Spain. The company makes stoneware and porcelain figurines and vases in limited and unlimited editions. Dates given are first and last years of production."
