This beautiful early plastic brooch is from the years of the Great Depression. With money being hard to come by for many and metals being in short supply due to WWII, much of costume jewelry, including Bakelite, were made from inexpensive materials. It couldn't be known at that time, how collectible and desired these old brooches would become. And we know what Bakelite jewelry sells for these days!!
