This unusual and striking piece from the late 1970's is a great accessory for light, bright summer clothes. The fish is painted wood as are the larger decorative beads. The two white beads are shells. The long, thin beads swing all the way around so that they can be positioned facing all the same way or varied to suit the wearer. I don't know what the round flat beads are that make up the rest of the necklace - they seem to be a composite of some kind. The necklace is in excellent condition and much lighter in weight that its appearance might suggest ...It weighs just 2.5 ounces and measures 24".

There is no maker's mark anywhere. It looks like an artisan piece of the era.
