The flower is painted on what appears to be coconut shell but I'm not really sure. It is mounted on a star of the same material. The large decorative beads are wood and the long, thin ones swing all the way around so that they can be positioned facing all the same way or varied to suit the wearer. I don't know what the round flat beads are that make up the rest of the necklace - they seem to be a composite of some kind. The necklace is in excellent condition and much lighter in weight that its appearance might suggest. It weighs just 2.7 ounces and measures 27".
There is no maker's mark anywhere. It looks like an artisan piece of the era.
