SOLD SUPERB 19th Century Victorian STERLING Silver Horn Hair COMB Pin

RARE Antique Sterling topped hair comb MEASURES 4 Inches Top to Btm. & is in VERY GOOD CONDITION! This amazing Victorian fashion accessory has chased ~ carved designs on its ORNATE, Intertwined, Openwork Marked "STERLING" cap.

From the information I have come across, I believe the comb is made from 'clarified carved horn' AND because there are only 2 tines, it is technically not a hair comb... it is a "Hair Pin".

After more than a century, the tines are complete & have virtually no signs of wear ~ use, the tubular puffy sterling silver topper has NO DINGS, DENTS or Excessive wear however; under 10 Power magnification I just noticed a tiny 'burst' that occurred during manufacture & although tight & intact, the silver solder has slightly loosened where the loops meet the cap on the pin. I have not disturbed the OLD Dark Patina.
