Moss Rose Covered Oval Box or Candy Dish

This lovely covered box is a new one to me. I have seen a lot of Moss Rose pieces, but was not aware of this lovely covered oval box or candy dish. The only mark on the base is 28/6M. I would guess it was made in Japan.

It measures 6 1/4" long x 4 2/3" wide for the base and the top measures 6 3/4" x 5" wide. It sits on 4 feet and is free of damage. There is a bow on the lid as the handle and the edge is ruffled and gilded. Of course, there is the traditional moss rose design. Lovely piece. If you collect Moss Rose pieces, this would be an unusual addition.
