Offering a wide selection of glassware and vintage items gleaned from estate auctions of the Midwest.
The brochure says that when coffee boils, the aromatic oils evaporate. The Vaculator doesn't boil, because the water that rises into the upper glass container is just hot enough to extract and retain the delicious aromatic oils. The Vaculator method is the "same method used by America's foremost restaurants and fountains."
Tea grounds can be substituted for coffee grounds for a lovely pot of tea.
Pyrex made the glass pieces for this coffeepot and is so marked. The original Vaculator label is still intact and, as mentioned earlier, I have the original instruction sheet. In fact, I also have the original box and cardboard strip that protects the ceramic during shipping.
I might also point out that the yellowish tint to the glass top and bottom, near the connection point, is intentionally tinted amber.
Oh, did I say this coffeepot has never been used?
