This plate was commissioned by P. A. Bergner & Company of Peoria, Illinois. Vernon Kilns began making collectible plates in 1936 and continued until 1958 when Vernon Kilns sold to Metlox. I cannot tie down the date for this plate, but it is between those dates.
The plate is brown on white and depicts the Peoria County Court House, Peoria; United States Post Office; U.S. Northern Regional Research Laboratory; Mohammed Temple Shrine Mosque; Benton House, oldest in Peoria; Illinois River at Peoria and the Clock Tower Horology Building, Bradley College.
The base is marked P.A. Bergner & Co., Peoria, Illinois, "Treasure Chest of the Middle West" by Vernon Kilns, U.S.A. The plate measures 10 5/16" and is free of chips, cracks or crazing.
