REDUCED Old Wooden Wool Carder

I can't read the manufacturer's name that is stamped into the front of this wool carder, but I believe it is Vedill or some such. It measures 9 1/8" x 4 3/4" and 8 1/4" to the end of the handles.

The wire teeth are held in place by leather and/or tin strips...some of which are missing sections.

The top paddle has cracked in half a long time ago and two strips of wood were nailed across the crack to hold it in place. It worked. However, whoever nailed one lath over the break, tended to bend the nails. Rather adds to the individuality of the piece.

This is a neat primitive.
