This is a very ornate demitasse cup and saucer which was made by the Merit China Company, Japan. It has heavy highlights of rose, orange, umber, pink, blue...multi-colors to accent the floral design on a green background.

The saucer measures 4 1/2" wide; the cup is 2 1/8" tall x 2 5/8" wide at the rim. Both pieces are free of damage, but there is a little dimple in one portion of the cup base from manufacture. It appears to have been used for display only.

Lovely old piece of porcelain.
