REDUCED Baby Shoes and Shoe Box

Although this little pair of baby shoes came in this box, I don't think they go together. The box signifies that the shoes are pink, but they are traditional white. I would guess that the box and shoes are from the 1950s. The box is marked Veach Shoe Co., St. Louis. The top has a notation that the box contains Barbara J.'s first shoes by Dorothy Humes.

The shoes are size 18 and the sticker inside looks like it states 38 cents, but that must have come off a pair of socks. The shoes have soft leather soles and the original laces. The shoes have been stuffed with raw cotton to retain the shape. The shoes are in fine condition.
