I don't know why I'm drawn to these banana boats, but I am. I guess it's the grand presence of the piece, set off by the distinctive hobs and the piecrust trim. I have the high banana boat and use it to display fruit, but also use it for special occasions as a centerpiece. For instance, at Christmas time, I fill it with greens, holly sprigs and a pretty ribbon or beads. Against the white background, the greenery and red berries really stand out. This Fenton milk glass hobnail candleholder is from one of their more popular pattern lines. It is #3674-MI and was issued in 1961 and made thru 1980. This piece measures 6" tall x 4 1/4" across the base and is free of damage. This candleholder would be perfect as an accent piece on an end table or bookcase...especially during the holidays, as that white really pops against greenery and red velvet.

Fenton has several candle holders in their milk glass hobnail line, but I like the #3974MI set, as they are simple, low and can be used on either side of a centerpiece or singly. The stark white really pops when displayed against dark woods or greenery. These candleholders were made between 1955-1989 and measure 3 1/2" high. There are six rows of hobs on the stem and the ball below the candle cup really sets these holders off. They are lovely.
