Imperial's Rubigold "Grape" Footed Creamer #831

$24 USDImperial's Rubigold "Grape" Footed Creamer #831

Glass:By Maker:Imperial Rubigold
I'm listing this set separately for those who only need a creamer or a sugar bowl. Things happen, and this would be a good opportunity to replace a chipped or broken part of the set. It is Imperial's Rubigold footed creamer in the "Grape" pattern and is item #831. As noted, I also have the sugar bowl listed on Ruby Lane and will be happy to combine for shipping. This creamer measures 4 7/8" tall x 4 1/3" wide and was made in a 4-part mold. There are scallops on the rim and it has a reeded handle ...
Imperial's Rubigold "Grape" Footed Sugar Bowl #831

$24 USDImperial's Rubigold "Grape" Footed Sugar Bowl #831

Glass:By Maker:Imperial Rubigold
I have listed this sugar bowl from the "Grape" set as a separate entity, on the chance someone might need the sugar bowl or creamer, but not the set. If you wish the set, I have listed the creamer on Ruby Lane and will be happy to combine for shipping. That said... This is Imperial's Rubigold footed sugar bowl #831 in their "Grape" pattern. It stands 4 1/3" tall, has a scalloped rim, reeded handle and stem. It came from a 4-part mold. I find no damage.
King's Crown Ruby Open Compote

$30 USDKing's Crown Ruby Open Compote

Glass:By Type:King's Crown Ruby
I love these open compotes, as they are so handy (too handy, sometimes) to use as serving bowls for special candies or other treats. How easy to walk by and grab a handful, but...hey, you only live once. This is probably by Tiffin. It came from a 3-part mold and have lovely ruby stain. It measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/8" and is free of damage. There may be a spot or two from the ruby flashing, but that is to be expected. As you can see from the photographs, it is a beauty.
King's Crown Ruby Sherbets (3 available)

$15 USDKing's Crown Ruby Sherbets (3 available)

Glass:By Type:King's Crown Ruby
Using King's Crown ruby sherbets to serve a couple dips of ice cream, sherbet or pudding is an elegant ending to your meal. Even if it isn't a special occasion, there is something about using stems that makes your guests feel special. These sherbets are being sold separately, but there are three available and I will be happy to combine for shipping. These are the 2-part molds and measure 3 7/8" x 3 1/8" tall. They have the oval thumbprints and are probably by Tiffin. They are free of damage, but ...

$120 USDImperial Rubigold Cracker Jar #282 - Free Shipping (US)

Glass:By Maker:Imperial Rubigold
Do you have a bookcase or hutch that needs a beautiful and glowing piece of glass to fill that special corner? This lovely cracker jar was made by Imperial in their Rubigold line and was their item #282 made in the 1960-70s. This piece measures 8" with the lid in place, or 6" without and is 5" in diameter. The lid is heavy. Neither piece has any damage. The iridescence is beautiful and will change throughout the day as the light strikes it. You'll love this piece.
Imperial's Green (Helios) Carnival Covered Jar - Free Shipping (US)

$100 USDImperial's Green (Helios) Carnival Covered Jar - Free Shipping (US)

Glass:By Maker:Imperial Carnival Glass
This lovely carnival covered jar was made by Imperial and is outstanding in its iridescence of gold, purple and blues on the green glass. In the Imperial Glass, Vol. II book by James Measell, the color is referred to as Helios. It measures 6" tall with the lid in place, or 4 1/4" without and is 3 5/8" wide. I believe it is called a milk jar, but I haven't figured out why that would be. Any ideas? I find no damage. This came from the estate of a woman who collected Imperial Rubigold and other ...

$10 USDDaisy Art. 65 Crochet Booklet Volume 16, 1974, Doilies

Collectibles:Textiles
This booklet was issued in 1974 and is called Volume 16. It contains 43 pages of gorgeous doily patterns, some with beads and some without. The book is in very nice condition.

Collectibles:Textiles:Crochet
The Star Book #228 was issued in May of 1965 (35 pages) and the Lily Book #208 book was probably issued in the 1950-60s (35 pages). Both booklets include patterns for doilies, placemats and centerpieces. The Star book has doilies knitted, crocheted and tatted.
Popular Crochet #204 and Tablecloths & Bedspreads #224 Booklets

$8 USDPopular Crochet #204 and Tablecloths & Bedspreads #224 Booklets

Collectibles:Textiles:Crochet Booklets
Although there isn't a date of issue on the Tablecloths & Bedspreads #224, 35-page booklet, I am guessing it was in the 1950-60s as the price is 35 cents. The Popular Crochet #204 booklet containing 35 pages sold for 65 cents and was issued in September 1979. Both booklets are in nice condition and are complete. I admire anyone who has the patience and stamina to actually complete a doily, let alone a tablecloth or bedspread. There is one pattern in the bedspread booklet that is to die for. It ...
Rival Crock-Pot Cooking, 1975, 1st ed.

$10 USDRival Crock-Pot Cooking, 1975, 1st ed.

Books:Cookbooks:Rival Crockpot
This hardback, spiral-bound cookbook is by Rival, the original manufacturer of the infamous crock-pot slow cookers that ended up under every Christmas tree when it was first invented. Although each family had their favorites that could only be made in a crock-pot, recipes began pouring in. As I recall, the pots came with a small brochure of recipes, but this issue by Rival has over 300 recipes and contains 208 pages, including index. The categories are: Beef, Pork and Lamb; Poultry; Fish and ...

Midwest Old Threshers' Cookbook, 1982

$18 USDMidwest Old Threshers' Cookbook, 1982

Books:Cookbooks:Midwest Old Threshers' Cookbook
The first Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers' Reunion was held in 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Collectors brought their restored or still unrestored threshing machines to the fair grounds to compare and discuss the relics of bygone days. Little by little, the reunion grew to the show it is today. While the men were discussing their threshing machines and other farm relics, the women were fixing Old Thresher dinners...some of the best cooking you will ever find. You see, if a farmer needed a ...
Moss Rose Covered Oval Box or Candy Dish

$32 USDMoss Rose Covered Oval Box or Candy Dish

Porcelain:Decorative & Figurines:Moss Rose Oval Covered Box
This lovely covered box is a new one to me. I have seen a lot of Moss Rose pieces, but was not aware of this lovely covered oval box or candy dish. The only mark on the base is 28/6M. I would guess it was made in Japan. It measures 6 1/4" long x 4 2/3" wide for the base and the top measures 6 3/4" x 5" wide. It sits on 4 feet and is free of damage. There is a bow on the lid as the handle and the edge is ruffled and gilded. Of course, there is the traditional moss rose design. Lovely piece. If ...

REDUCED Chalkware Piggy Bank

$43 USD ReducedREDUCED Chalkware Piggy Bank

Collectibles:Banks:Chalkware:Piggy Bank
These chalkware banks bring back memories of prizes given at state fairs or carnivals for hitting a target so many times with a ball or some such game of chance. Whoever won this pig piggy bank took excellent care of it through the years, as it has retained the majority of its paint and doesn't have chips or cracks. Keep in mind that these were mass produced and were rather crude, but there is a certain endearing quality to these chalkware pieces, and the fact that it has come through all these ...

From Our Kitchens To Yours, First Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa

$10 USDFrom Our Kitchens To Yours, First Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa

Books:Cookbooks
I don't have a date for this cookbook, but it appears to be from the 1950s. For one, the ads appear to be around that period of time and the phone numbers are two or three digits. I would say the late 40s to early 50s. Keep in mind that this church still runs a tent kitchen at the Old Threshers' Reunion, which is a huge event each year. These church tents are well known for their fabulous meals, generous servings and reasonable prices. They use quality ingredients and put out a quality product. ...

Fenton's Happiness Bird in Custard Glass w/Pink Floral Decoration

$35 USDFenton's Happiness Bird in Custard Glass w/Pink Floral Decoration

Glass:By Maker:Fenton Happiness Bird
Fenton's Happiness Bird is so graceful and especially great for a paperweight or sitting next to a potted ivy or vine of some kind. This bird was made in the 1970s and is decorated with sparkly pink flowers and leaves. The name of the beading escapes me, but it does add a nice dimension to the design. The bird measures 6 1/2" beak to tail and is signed by Mike, who is the person who painted the floral design.

$22 USDA Taste of Terrace Hill, Governor's Mansion, Iowa, 1979, Signed 1st Ed.

Books:Cookbooks
Billie Ray, the gracious and lovely wife of Governor Robert Ray, the longtime governor of Iowa, helped compile this cookbook. It was produced in 1979 and includes many recipes used for visiting dignitaries, Iowa citizens and politicians. Terrace Hill was donated to the State of Iowa in 1971 by the Hubbell family and became the governor's mansion. It is a gorgeous and grand residence. Many of the recipes would be suitable for special dinner parties or family get-togethers, but there are also ...
Olds Congregational Church Centennial Cook Book, 1854-1954

$10 USDOlds Congregational Church Centennial Cook Book, 1854-1954

Books:Cookbooks
This is one of those traditional church cookbooks often put out to share recipes, but also used to raise money for church needs or for the women's society. This cookbook was put out by the Women's Guild in 1954 and I'm here to tell you that these women knew how to cook. I grew up not far from Olds (Iowa) and these women didn't worry about fancy dishes, but were more interested in getting the food to the table so that it's served hot if hot and cold if cold. Forget the parsley sprigs or lemon ...

Corn-Of-Plenty Cookbook, 1986 and Louisiana's Fabulous Foods And How To Cook Them Cookbook

$15 USDCorn-Of-Plenty Cookbook, 1986 and Louisiana's Fabulous Foods And How To Cook Them Cookbook

Books:Cookbooks
Two for the price of one! The first is Corn-of-Plenty Cookbook by Laurie Woody ad Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., 1986. This spiral-bound cookbook is like new and contains 94 pages of recipes and index. The recipes all contain corn and/or corn products. I had to stop and think on a few of them, but it is amazing how many products are derived from corn. Hint: She highlighted all the products in each recipe that are connected to corn. What an eye-opener. All the recipes are kitchen-tested and ...
REDUCED Art Nouveau Cake Plate, MZ Austria, Signed

$65 USD ReducedREDUCED Art Nouveau Cake Plate, MZ Austria, Signed

Porcelain:Mz Austria
What a simple, yet striking decoration to this cake plate. It was made by Moritz Zdekauer of Austria in the early 1900s and is marked MZ Austria with the green crown on the base. This lovely cake plate measures 9 7/8" wide and has two heavily gilded handles. The handles have a little wear, which should be expected for plates of this age. On the base are the initials, S.K. I find no damage, but there is a teeny piece of sand in the bottom of the plate. The plate is framed with a lovely shade of ...
Fenton Ruby Bell w/White Roses

$25 USDFenton Ruby Bell w/White Roses

Glass:By Maker:Fenton Ruby
I realize there is a following of Fenton's white roses on ruby and this bell is a good example of why they love those pieces. The dark, dark ruby really makes the white roses pop. This bell measures 6 1/8" tall and is signed as handpainted by Delu L. The gold/black sticker is still in place, as is the original clapper. Lovely piece, free of damage.
Annalee 8" Workshop Santa, 1990

$25 USDAnnalee 8" Workshop Santa, 1990

Dolls:By Brand Names:Annalee
This is one of my favorite Annalee Christmas dolls/figures. It is the 8" Workshop Santa which was issued from 1987-91. The tag on this one says 1990 and you can find it on page 125 of The Price Guide to Contemporary Collectibles and Limited Editions, 9th edition. I think it's the size and simplicity of this Santa. He is busy painting a train engine in green and is dressed in his red longjohns, which are protected with a work apron in blue and white ticking. He stands on a green, felt pad. The ...
