About Us
My home is in the Shenandoah Valley, a beautiful, scenic place to live. I wasn't born here. That took place in a small town in Pennsylvania set in a valley very much like this one. There, I was surrounded by grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and, of course, my parents. That is where I learned to love "old" things; jewelry, furniture, silverware, linens and anything older than I was.

Not everyone in my family shared this interest. The day my mother burned an old sterling creamer and sugar bowl which had belonged to my great-grandmother because it had turned an ugly color was the day my grandparents started hiding their treasures. They would bring them out for me to see and touch and learn. Except for Mom, my family was steeped in its history and traditions. Mom was on a different plane. She liked the new. Most of the jewelry worked its way down to me, including my mother's.

Now I go on hunting for more of these treasures. I have studied, joined associations and talked to many cyber collectors and I learn something from every one of them. As an empty nester, this has been a happy time for me.
