Welcome to our shop. We hope you will find our items priced right for your fun and enjoyment!
The canister has is original screw on lid which is also green and shows little rust underneath and still has most of its color on the top.
The cannister measures just a bit over 6 inches square about 9 inches tall. The label is still on the front and read "COOKIES" but it is well worn and the writing can only be seen when held to the light a certain way.
Gene Florence in his book "Kitchen Glassware of the Depression Era" says this cannister is a 64 oz size and that it was made by Hocking.
The ribbed glass has many bubbles and some straw marks. It is very heavy and thick. There are no chips or cracks.
This is a beautiful depression green canister. These large ones do not come around very often. Because of the size they were dropped or just did not survive over the years.
A wonderful piece for your collection or to display on your Hoosier cabinet!
