This vintage bookplate print is from an illustration by 'Eulalie' (Eulalie Banks). This full-colour picture depicts the Mother Goose nursery rhyme character of Little Tommy Tucker.

"Little Tommy Tucker, Sings for his supper; What shall we give him, But white bread and butter? How shall he cut it without a knife? How shall he be married without a wife?"

Eulalie Banks (1895-1999) was an English-born writer, artist, illustrator and muralist who lived the majority of her long life in California. She is best-known for the over fifty children's books that she illustrated; including several that she also authored. Her artistic talents extended to painting nursery murals for Hollywood stars Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Ann Harding. She also created the much-admired murals in the boys & girls room at the old, now-demolished Santa Monica Library.

This colour plate is from a disbound children's picture story book published by the Platt & Munk Co. in 1937 and 1941. It is printed on glossy, coated paper and has unrelated text on the reverse. The colours of this charming, nostalgic print are bright and vibrant.

This vintage litho print measures 10" x 7 3/4" (approx.). It is in excellent condition with little attendant signs of wear and use and is eminently suitable for framing. It would be perfect for a nursery, baby's room or child's room!

Canada/USA Postage & Packing is $3.50 (Elsewhere to be determined). Multiple items purchased from SHARP OBJECTS may be combined for shipping purposes.
