This is a genuine original magazine advertisement from the November 2, 1936 issue of Punch's Almanack for 1937.

This British, black & white, vintage tobacco ad features a picture of Imperial Tobacco Company cigarettes and pipe tobacco boxes and tins with the slogan, "All dressed up for Christmas". The illustration depicts the Navy Cut Cigarettes in "colourful Christmas packings" of a pictorial card box with a Scottish pipe & drum military marching band on the lid.

The Player's products are on display with retail prices included in the "old money", United Kingdom currency of shillings and pence.

Or if one prefers, the reverse features two half-page ads: one for Wolsey Men's Underwear and the other for The Dual Burberry (Reversible - Two Coats in One). The artist-signed (J. Scott) drawing features a well-dressed, country gentleman with his faithful, Labrador retriever dog,

Many vintage ads can act as "time capsules", reflecting the styles and sensibilities of a particular era. Christmas ads, perhaps due to the traditional, "family" nature of the holiday, often evoke a stronger sense of nostalgia. They can stir childhood memories of simpler, more sentimental times.

This dated, 1930s advert measures 11 1/4" x 8 1/2" (approx.). This piece of English advertising memorabilia / ephemera has a slight sepia tone adding to its vintage appeal. This Thirties print ad is in very good condition and is eminently suitable for framing - perhaps as a decorative holiday accent for your home.

Canada/USA Postage & Packing is $3.50 (Elsewhere to be determined). Multiple items purchased from SHARP OBJECTS may be combined for shipping purposes.
