The circa 1930s label features an illustration of a pretty blonde housewife holding a can of the product with her face on the same inset portrait beaming back. A picture within a picture!
The other side of the label depicts a smiling fisherman complete with the fishing accoutrements of rod, reel and creel proudly holding up his prize catch fish.
The details provided on the vintage cannery label reads, "Product of Canada * Choice Quality Sockeye Salmon * From the Icy Waters of British Columbia * Government Approved Fresh - Firm Well Packed * Net Contents 15 1/2 ozs. * Shafer-Haggert Ltd. Vancouver, Canada". Smith Litho Ltd of Vancouver was the printer of this great tin label for the canning company.
The vintage food can label measures 9 3/4" x 4 3/8" (approx.). This Thirties era label is in excellent, unused condition and is eminently suitable for framing. The colours are strong and vibrant with great period graphics.
Vintage labels are great additions to advertising and ephemera collections. They also make ideal "wall art" when framed for display in a kitchen or for a diner or retro restaurant look.
Canada/USA Postage & Packing is $3.50 (Elsewhere to be determined). Multiple items purchased from SHARP OBJECTS may be combined for shipping purposes.
