This attractive, embossed vintage post card features the following sentiment above an illustration of young lovers by a castle keep:
"Away wid all your blarney. For we know no place so fair As the land that holds Killarney. An' grows the Shamrock rare"
The Ruth Fargo verse, the illustrated vignette of the embracing couple in the shadow of a castle and golden sun (or moon), and an embossed shamrock are all framed within a pale green border.
This "The Fairman Co" of Cincinnati & New York divided back "Post Card" is numbered 9201. The reverse is inscribed to "Miss Eliza Baxter, c/o Inwardleigh Poultry Farm, Rockwood, Ont." It was postmarked in Guelph, Ontario on St Paddy's Day, 1917 (or 1911) and bears the familiar Fairman "The Pink of Perfection" flower logo.
This postally-used post card is in very good condition with soft, bright colours. There are soft corners and a modicum of wear to the textured-surface card.
