TWO Vintage Ammonia Bottle LABELS - 'Buffalo' & 'Household' ~ c. Early 1900s

This is a lot of two (2) genuine original labels. These unused, die-cut, household cleaner labels are for two brands of ammonia. The first is for Buffalo Ammonia ("A Powerful Cleanser for General Cleaning Purposes") as produced by the American Bluing Co. ("Established 1872") of Buffalo, New York. The second is for Household Ammonia ("For Family Use") prepared by The Booker Laboratories, Norfolk, Virginia.

Both household product labels use distinctive, old-fashioned, period script with an image of a bison (naturally) on the Buffalo brand one. The orange Household label bears a Poison! warning complete with antidote instructions. It also has detailed "Directions For Use" for laundry and toilet uses.

The Buffalo label measures 3 5/8" x 5 1/2" (approx.) with the other being 3 3/8" x 5 3/8". These old product labels are in excellent, unused condition and are eminently suitable for framing. The colours are strong and vibrant with great period graphics.

Vintage labels are great additions to advertising and ephemera collections. These are of particular interest to collectors of domestic or household-related memorabilia. They make ideal "wall art" when framed for display.
