This attractive, embossed valentine card features a full-colour illustration of a young courting couple gliding on the winter ice. The romantic, boy and girl ice skaters depicted on this sweet, old die-cut card are clad in old-fashioned clothes.

This scallop-edged, decorative-bordered valentine opens to a picture of cute children standing on a hill framed by a heart. It has the following sentiment: "St. Valentine was a good old chap As ever there could be He tried to make it easy For bashful folks like me Be My Valentine". There is an inscription in ink on the reverse: "Willie Hart".

This antique, colour litho "Whitney Made Worcester Mass. Made In U.S.A." card measures 4" x 5" (approx.) when closed. It is of glossy, light card stock with strong, vibrant colours. It is in good condition with a modicum of the attendant signs of age and wear (i.e. minor soiling, tidemark). This charming piece of early 1900s-era ephemera / St Valentine's Day-related memorabilia is eminently suitable for collecting/displaying.
