John, Baron Somers of Evesham (1651-1716) was an English jurist and statesman. He presided over the framing of the Bill of Rights in 1689. He subsequently held the offices of Solicitor-General, Attorney-General, Lord Keeper Of The Seal, and Lord Chancellor. He was forced to resign as Lord Chancellor in part for his support of the infamous pirate, Captain Kidd.
