Superb Old Bertino Royal Zuid Gouda Holland Art Pottery Vase

This is a gorgeous vase in absolutely stunning colors! The front features a deep yellow and wine red floral pattern accented with deep blue and orange, and foliage glazed in shades of various shades of green. All of this on a subtly mottled dove-gray background. The interior is glazed in deep turquoise. It measures 8” tall and approximately 3 ¼” square. This is clearly marked on the base with the number 4374 BERTINO ROYAL ZUID HOLLAND GOUDA with the famed house logo. The year date on the left side of the mark identifies this as made in 1948. I am no expert on Gouda pottery, and I am in special debt to an excellent reference website for Gouda pottery for the information I have found on this piece. This is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, etc. There is gentle crazing appropriate to its age, but it is not at all disfiguring. Shipping weight: 2 lb. 14 oz.
