Superb Huge Antique French Majolica Sarreguemines Pink & Gray Fish Shape Seafood Serving Tray

Wow, what a treat I have for you here! This magnificent—and huge—fish shape serving platter is in the form of a fish glazed in cream, pink, and dove gray. It was made by the renowned French faiencerie, Sarreguemines, in Sarreguemines, France, probably sometime in the 1930’s. This is part of a complete seafood service I am currently offering for sale, so if you like this be sure to see items #RL050824 and RL050825 for the matching pieces. This platter measures 21” long and 10” wide. It is clearly marked on the back with the Sarreguemines backstamp which was in use from around 1920 to 1960. It is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There are a couple of factory flaws on the surface: a spot near the face, a spot on the rim, and 2 glazed over nicks on the back, but these are not damage, they occurred during the manufacture of the platter. There is gentle crazing appropriate to its age, but it is not disfiguring. Shipping weight: 6 lb. 2 oz. (Location: MB1)
