This lovely majolica basket is so quintessentially Art Nouveau in color and form! It is glazed in predominantly caramel and deep green, with a central medallion glazed in aqua and lilac, with flowers flanking the medallion. The interior is glazed in cream. It measures 5 ¾” long, 3 ½” wide, and 4 ¾” tall, and is marked on the base with the number 10041. Although it is not marked as to origin, judging from the design, colors used, and the appearance of the clay on the table rim, I am confident this is an Austrian piece. It dates to between circa 1890 and 1914. It is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Shipping weight: 1 lb. 7 oz. (Location: C2)
