Lovely Antique English Majolica Staffordshire Figural Boy with Fruit

I am pleased to offer this superb English Staffordshire figure of a young boy in period dress holding a basket of apples. He is beautifully modeled, dressed in pale peach knickers and hat, light green coat, & white shirt accented with red. He measures 5” high and approximately 2” in diameter at the base. This has no maker’s mark, only the red backstamp “England”. This was no doubt made by one of the many anonymous Staffordshire potteries and probably made for the US export market. It dates to circa 1880-1900. He is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, etc. There is an old, and apparently professional, repair to the brim of his hat, but it is so well done that I could not see it with the naked eye, only under magnification.
