SOLD Superb Antique Czech Majolica Art Nouveau Pear Platter

I am very pleased to offer this stunning platter done in beautiful the beautiful soft shades and naturalistic flowing lines so typical of the Art Nouveau period. It features a taupe-glazed peach branch that wraps around about half the plate with foliage glazed in shades of green radiating off the branch and a pair of luscious peaches glazed in a gentle blend of red and tangerine dangling from the branch. The background color is cream. This measures 10” in diameter and bears an impressed mark “Czechoslovakia” and the numbers 205 and 827. This likely dates to between 1917 and 1925. It is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There is some wear to the high spots on the branch and leaves, and gentle crazing appropriate to its age, but I don’t find it disfiguring. See the photos to judge for yourself.
