Superb Antique English Majolica Thomas Forester Lilac-Lined Triple Lion Tripod Vase

I am very pleased to offer this gorgeous lion-footed tripod majolica vase. It is glazed in mottled shades of green, chocolate, and pale gold with lilac accents around the top and lined in lilac as well. The vase is supported by three lion’s foot legs topped by a decorative green shell form, all surmounted by a majestic lion’s head. This is not marked in any way, but on page 71 in the reference book "Marvelous Majolica" by Jeffrey Snyder, he identifies an identical vase with a different color scheme as the work of Thomas Forester. It dates to between 1880 and the 1890's. I have included a photo of the page for those who don't have access to the book. The vase measures 8 ¾” tall and approximately 6” in diameter at the base. The condition is superb with its only issue being one minor chip on the base. (See the photos for details.) There is gentle crazing appropriate to its age, but it is not at all disfiguring.
