Pottery:Art Pottery:Non-european
I am very pleased to offer this stunning vase depicting Calla Lilies in shades of aqua, orange, deep gold, green, and cream on a cobalt blue background. The vase is shaped as a rounded octagon, standing 9 3/4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter at its widest point. It dates to either the 1920's or possibly early 30's. He left in 1905 for Algeria and started a pottery there. Inspired by the stunning artistry of the Arabesque mosaics he was exposed to in Algeria, Jean returned to Vallauris in 1919 with the ...

$35 USDLovely Old Italian Florentine Faience Raffaelesco Grotesques Vinegar & Oil Cruets

This is a lovely pair of hand-painted cruets in the traditional Florentine “Grotesques” motif most often called now by the term Raffaelesco. In traditional colors, each cruet features ornately rendered dragons on either side and a blue and yellow floral motif in the center. Each cruet measures 4 ¼” tall and 3” in diameter at its widest point, excluding the handle. They are not marked at all, not even with a number, so I can’t tell you who made them, but my guess would be these date to the 1930 ...
