I love these antique Chinese Export porcelain bird figures with majolica-like glaze that were so popular around the turn-of-the-century. I’ve seen any number of different birds done in this style including peacocks, pigeons, roosters, geese, and ducks, but this is one of the better, and more unusual, ones I’ve encountered. I am pleased to offer this beautiful—and early—Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose bowl in the traditional lotus shape. This features a gorgeous bird…(I’m guessing a phoenix?) with floral and foliage décor surrounding it done in the traditional Famille Rose palette. The interior is glazed in turquoise.
