While Shantique Gallery has been on Ruby Lane only since 2007, I have been selling online since 2000. I specialize in fine antique continental European--especially French and Austrian--majolica.
I began to concentrate on collecting majolica about twenty-five years ago. At that time, I bought any and all majolica that I could find, and—of course—afford. It didn’t matter to me where it came from, what condition it was in, or what it was. If it was majolica, and the price tag didn’t send me into apoplectic shock, I bought it. I've since become pickier, and narrowed my interest down to continental European majolica, especially Austrian and French. My personal collection tends heavily toward French majolica in the Art Nouveau style, but I’m certainly not averse to buying a lovely piece from anywhere in the world.
I make several buying trips to Europe each year to scour the countryside for treasures to bring to you. I discovered that buying and selling majolica is a wonderful way to share my passion for this exquisite art pottery and enjoy pieces I never would have been able to own privately. I hope that you enjoy browsing through my items, and please check back often as I am constantly adding to my inventory.
