C1880s. This is a very nicely carved ivory hand. It has such a lovely patina. I'm not sure what the hand is suppose to be carrying or what it signifies. Possibly a scroll. Maybe a graduation certificate or the passing of some kind of a duty or task on to another in a ladies club or fraternity. Maybe it has religious significance. If anyone out there knows, please contact me. No chips or cracks. C-clasp closure. Measures 1.75 inches long
