You sure don’t see these little treasures very often. In fact, this is the only one I have ever seen much less been able to own. It is marked with the hallmarks for Sterling, London, and the date mark for 1898/99. Marked also with a maker mark of “J.G.& S”. I have polished it and the only flaw I can find are two tiny dents on the bottom. This might have been a salesman sample or an adult knickknack? Late 1800’s. This lovely nut scoop was probably given as a gift. On the back of the handle there is a date engraved “Oct. 27th, 1898”. The front of the handle has the initials “MCH” engraved. The bowl has open star and hole decoration. There is a makers mark but it is unreadable. Marked “Sterling”. I could not find the manufacturer or pattern in my reference books. Condition: Excellent.
