Huge Old Metal Horse

This antique metal horse stands 23" tall and is 30" long. I'm not sure what kind of metal it is made from. As you can see it is part brass and part darker metal. Is it supposed to be that way? Was it once all brass? Is it brass plated or solid brass and the darker part was the plating that is wearing away? Who knows - it is what it is. I think it is kind of interesting just the way it is with some brass and some darker metal! There are no broken parts or pieces.
