Limoges Chocolate Cup With Hand Painted Victorian Girl And Boy

This cup is too cute and has the lovely scrolled handle and flared rim. It stands 3 7/8” to the top o f the handle (3” to the lip of the cup itself) and is 2 7/8” across at the top and 2” across at the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks or wear to the paint. The gold does have some light wear but it’s that “fluttery” kind of applied gold anyway so the wear doesn’t stand out and in any event it’s entirely acceptable for this piece that is over 100 years old!

On one side is hand painted a Victorian girl complete with hand fan and feather in her hair - very cute! The other side has a hand painted young gentleman with cane and britches. In between are hand painted flowers and leaves and the inside is dotted with hand painted flowers as well.

The mark on the bottom is Tressemann & Vogt dating from 1892-1907.
