This is a fantastic item! I had another one of these a while back that featured a large party. This one also has a lot going on. These old jugs often tell a story, and this one is a whopper! To begin with it has this great old face on the spout. When you get to the base, it has horses and men in wild outfits, dogs, sheep, rams, sheepherder, nooses, spears, and I could go on & on. It is just a fantastic piece! On top of all this, it is in beautiful condition! This jug is free of cracks & chips. It has some crazing noticeable on the inside of the piece and on the bottom. I see none on the outside. It has a very ornate handle and has the older Sarreguemines mark, also marked with Majolica and the number 43. It is a forest green in color shaded with black and is turquoise on the inside and on the bottom. This piece will be the object of conversations and admiration for a very long time. This jug dates to the late 1800s to 1910.
This beauty measures 7" tall, 4 1/2" across the rim, (including spout), and is 3" across the base.
